Daily Rituals and Traditional Celebrations

Ritualistic worship is an important part of revival of Kailaasa as rituals deepen the Oneness with the Cosmic Principle thus taking one closer to enlightenment. At the Madurai Aadheenam, The SPH alongwith the 292nd Pontiff, offer daily ritualistic worship at the altar of the Aadheenam as per the prescribed tradition before attending to the day’s scheduled activities. Important festivals are celebrated with the people. The ritual of distributing Jnana Paal (the breast milk of Devi Parvati consumed by Tiru Jnanasambandar as a 3-year-old child, symbolically distributed to the people everyday after ritualistically offering the milk at worship) was also revived at the Aadheenam and people flocked in large numbers to partake of it.

10 May 2012 – The SPH witnesses the customary evening arati (offering of sacred flame) at the main shrine inside the Aadheenam.
8 May 2012 – The SPH and the 292nd Pontiff offer the daily worship at the main altar in the Madurai Aadheenam.
Jnana paal (“enlightening milk”, the breast milk  of Devi Parvati, Consort of Paramasiva, that was consumed by Tiru Jnanasambandar, the reviver of Madurai Aadheenam, as a 3-year-old) is served for the first time to one and all at the Madurai Aadheenam as a ritualistic tradition, blessed to nurture in one the enlightenment. The 292nd Pontiff hands over the first cup of milk to The SPH and both of them enjoy the milk together. From then, the milk is served to all those who visit the Aadheenam. People heard of the Jnana Paal being served and came in large numbers to receive it.
